		<description>I completely agree.  Many educators and school systems in general are just plain afraid of social networking.  This closed-mindedness is causing them to fail to utilize a golden opportunity to get kids networked and talking about learning.  My 4th and 5th graders were excited at the mere possibility of having an &quot;e-pal&quot;; imagine their reaction to their very own social network?  They just like being in front of computers...they wouldn&#039;t back away from this just because it&#039;s academic--in fact, I believe they would jump at the chance to be able to have an academic discussion with new people that aren&#039;t in their homeroom.

Our county has blocked the use of any social networking sites, as have many others.  I wonder what it would take to get them to take a second look at this...</description>
